Major Update to ODBC Drivers: Expanded Compatibility, New Authentication Options, and Enhanced Data Type Support

We are excited to announce a significant update to our ODBC Drivers product line. This release delivers broader compatibility across modern data platforms, improved integration with third-party tools, and extended support for advanced data types and authentication methods.

Strengthening cross-platform compatibility

The latest update focuses on improving interoperability across widely used technologies. Devart ODBC Drivers now provide better compatibility with PHP environments through enhancements to the PDO_ODBC extension and PHP Unified ODBC functions. Node.js integration has also been refined, ensuring more stable and predictable connectivity for modern application stacks.

Additionally, compatibility with Attunity Qlik Replicate has been improved across multiple drivers, reinforcing our drivers’ position as a reliable choice for enterprise data integration scenarios.

New features for specialized drivers

ODBC Driver for Oracle

In this release, ODBC Driver for Oracle adds support for Oracle Database 26ai and introduces support for the JSON data type available in Oracle 21c and later, helping users work with newer Oracle environments and modern JSON-based data more easily.

ODBC Driver for MySQL

ODBC Driver for MySQL adds support for MySQL 9.6 and significantly improves compatibility with Linked Server in SSMS. This release also improves work with the VECTOR data type and Numeric and Decimal fields with precision greater than 38, helping ensure more accurate data handling in advanced MySQL environments.

ODBC Driver for PostgreSQL

ODBC Driver for PostgreSQL adds support for protocol 3.2, virtual generated columns, and OAUTHBEARER authentication, expanding compatibility with newer PostgreSQL capabilities and modern authentication requirements. The release also introduces the EnablePgTimeStamp, CurrentTimeZone, and ExactTimeZone connection options, giving users more precise control over timestamp behavior and time zone handling.

ODBC Driver for Firebird

ODBC Driver for Firebird adds the FloatAsSingle, WireCompression, UseReadConsistency, and ConnectionConfigOverrides connection options, giving users more control over connection behavior and performance. This release also improves compatibility with MS Access and Linked Server in SSMS, and improves work with INT128 fields and DECFLOAT16 and DECFLOAT34 fields for more reliable handling of Firebird-specific data types.

ODBC Driver for InterBase

ODBC Driver for InterBase adds the FloatAsSingle connection option and improves compatibility with MS Access and Linked Server in SSMS, giving users more control over floating-point data handling and more reliable integration with external tools.

ODBC Driver for xBase

ODBC Driver for xBase introduces a new read-only connection mode that allows safe access to data without the risk of modifications. The update also includes fixes for index update issues, improving data integrity and ensuring more reliable work with indexed tables.

ODBC Driver for Microsoft Access

ODBC Driver for Microsoft Access adds the SharedMode and SharedTimeout options, which allow multiple applications to work with the same database at the same time and help improve reliability in concurrent access scenarios.

ODBC Driver for Microsoft Excel

ODBC Driver for Microsoft Excel adds support for the CREATE RANGE statement, which allows users to refer to a range of cells as a database object. It also introduces the ExactFieldLength option, which sets the length of a string field to the exact value determined by the data.

ODBC Driver for Salesforce

ODBC Driver for Salesforce adds support for Server-to-Server Authentication, helping organizations configure secure access for integration scenarios that do not require direct user interaction.

ODBC Driver for Freshdesk

ODBC Driver for Freshdesk now includes the new UseCustomObjects option, giving users more flexibility when working with custom objects and helping simplify access to extended Freshdesk data structures.
