We are thrilled to announce a major update across our line of ODBC Drivers, introducing a graphical configuration interface for macOS and Linux, extended authentication methods, and compatibility with the latest database versions including PostgreSQL 18 and MariaDB 12.

A unified GUI for macOS and Linux users
Devart introduces Devart ODBC Administrator, a standalone application that provides an intuitive interface for managing ODBC data sources on macOS and Linux.
For the first time, users on macOS and Linux can configure Devart ODBC Drivers through a modern graphical interface instead of manually editing configuration files such as odbc.ini.

The new GUI offers an intuitive setup experience for all Devart ODBC Drivers, making connection management on non-Windows systems easier than ever. This tool is designed to work with not only Devart ODBC Drivers but also compatible with any third-party ODBC drivers.

Expanded authentication options
The update delivers significant security and connectivity enhancements:
- OAuth 2.0 authorization on macOS and Linux for Salesforce and Dynamics 365 Drivers, ensuring a safer and more consistent authentication flow across all supported platforms.
- Bearer Token authentication for HTTP and HTTPS tunneling in Oracle, PostgreSQL, QuestDB, Redshift, MySQL, ASE, SQL Server, SQL Azure, and SQL Synapse Drivers, providing a secure alternative to traditional login/password credentials.
New capabilities for Oracle users
Several improvements have been introduced for ODBC Driver for Oracle, including:
- Support for REF_CURSOR parameters, allowing stored procedures and functions to return result sets directly for use in reporting and analytics systems.
- Support for the BOOLEAN data type and passwords longer than 30 characters in Oracle 23c and later, enabling compatibility with the newest Oracle Database features.
Enhancements for MySQL and MariaDB
The ODBC Driver for MySQL now supports:
- MariaDB 12
- Vector data type — facilitating AI-driven workloads and applications that use embeddings and similarity search.
- UUID, INET4, and INET6 data types for enhanced compatibility with modern database schemas and network data.
