We are glad to announce the latest update for Devart’s ODBC Drivers.
This update features multiple security improvements, metadata caching, and multiple quality-of-life improvements.
Passwords, keys, and tokens are now fully secured and encrypted after entering and storing the DSN in ODBC administrator: now users can be sure that in case of unauthorized access to their PC, the bad actors will not be able to extract and use the data.
Metadata caching has been implemented for Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, Dynamics 365, FreshBooks, HubSpot, MailChimp, Marketo, NetSuite, Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, SugarCRM, Zendesk, Zoho CRM, and ZohoDesk: this update will greatly improve performance while decreasing the number of requests sent to these cloud applications.
Recently added read-only mode for Oracle, MySQL, Firebird, and InterBase will ensure the user doesn’t remove or alternate the data in the database, either accidentally or intentionally.
MongoDB 6 and 7 support has been officially implemented, alongside support for empty database names when opening a connection. Thus, users can receive metadata not about the default one but about all other databases.
xBase has received UTF-8 encoding support, with support for tables with duplicate column names. Compatibility with Quantum GIS and MS Access has been significantly improved. Error handling when using the IgnoreDataErrors options was also bettered.
ETL Informatica PowerCenter and Altova Mapforce compatibility have been improved for MongoDB, Firebird, InterBase, and xBase.
Other notable changes include, but are not limited to:
- ODBC Driver for Magento renamed to ODBC Driver for Adobe Commerce
- ODBC Driver for DEAR Inventory renamed to ODBC Driver for Cin7 Core
- ODBC Driver for Sendinblue renamed to ODBC Driver for Adobe Brevo
- Added support for custom fields for Adobe Brevo
- Improved compatibility with FileMaker Server for Linux and macOS in corresponding ODBC Drivers
- Improved document selecting interface for Google Sheets
- Improved compatibility with MS Access and added the RealAsDouble connection option for SQLite
