What’s new in this release

This release delivers a wide range of improvements designed to help developers work more efficiently and securely across multiple database systems.

Expanded IDE and tool support

The update ensures smooth integration with the latest development tools. All DAC products (except for EntityDAC) now support RAD Studio 13 Florence and Lazarus 4.2, making it easier for developers to adopt modern IDEs in their workflow.

Additionally, demo projects have been updated with support for ReportBuilder 23, helping developers test and prototype faster.

HTTP tunneling enhancements

To address modern connectivity needs, DAC products with HTTP tunneling now support Bearer Token authentication.

Along with that, the TProxyOptions class has been updated to use system proxy settings by default, simplifying configuration in enterprise environments.

Smarter connection handling

A new Pooled property has been introduced in the TCustomDAConnection component. It allows developers to detect whether a connection is newly created or retrieved from the pool, preventing redundant initialization and improving performance in high-load applications.

Product-specific improvements

ODAC and Oracle provider in UniDAC

Oracle developers will benefit from several key enhancements:

  • Added the SelfEvents property to TOraAlerter and TUniAlerter, giving developers control over whether alerters receive their own events.
  • Support for the BOOLEAN data type introduced in Oracle 23.
  • Extended Direct mode connections with passwords longer than 30 characters, meeting modern security requirements.

IBDAC and Firebird/InterBase provider in UniDAC

IBDAC also received several valuable improvements:

  • boNoTriggers option in TIBCBackupService to suppress triggers during backups.
  • boZip option in TIBCBackupService to create compressed archive backups.
  • User-defined security databases support in TIBCSecurityService for Firebird, enabling greater flexibility.

MyDAC and MySQL provider in UniDAC

This release delivers significant improvements to MyDAC and the MySQL provider in UniDAC:

  • AnsiQuotesMode option for managing ANSI_QUOTES in sql_mode.
  • Compatibility with MariaDB 12.
  • Support for UUID, INET4, and INET6 data types (MariaDB 10.7+ and 10.10+).
  • InsertBatchSize option in TMyDump and TUniDump for controlling batch insert sizes and increasing performance.

One of the most important additions is extended support for the Vector data type in MySQL and MariaDB. With the rapid rise of AI-powered solutions, vector storage and processing have become vital for applications such as semantic search, natural language processing, image recognition, and recommendation systems. By supporting the Vector data type, MyDAC allows developers to efficiently store, query, and manipulate high-dimensional vector embeddings used in AI and machine learning workflows. This enables easy integration of MySQL databases with modern AI models, making it easier to build intelligent applications directly on top of familiar database technologies.

Other notable updates

  • LiteDAC:
    • Added ISO8601-like time format support via the new TimeFormat property in LiteConnection.
  • MS Access Provider in UniDAC:
    • Improved DML performance within transactions.
    • New CacheSize and CacheLifetime options for ExclusiveLock mode.
    • PartialIndex option to significantly speed up SELECT queries.
  • NexusDB Provider in UniDAC:
    • Added support for NexusDB 4.75.17.
