EntityDAC now supports macOS 64-bit

July 30th, 2019

Version 2.2 is a minor release of EntityDAC that includes a few improvements and new features. The most notable update in this release is support for the macOS 64-bit operating system. We have also supported the Bytes attribute for the GUID generator.

There is a good chance that applications you have developed are still 32-bit. Now you can create 32-bit or 64-bit versions of your database applications for macOS to align technology with your business needs.

This update has arrived just in time considering Apple’s plans to drop support for 32-bit applications in future versions of macOS. Apple confirmed this June that the new macOS Catalina, which the company plans to release in the fall will bar users from installing 32-bit applications.

EntityDAC is a Delphi ORM framework for fast object-relational mapping of database objects to Delphi classes using LINQ. Note that EntityDAC 2.2 requires installation of Embarcadero RAD Studio 10.3 – Release 2.
