From now on, Delphi Data Access Components support the newly introduced RAD Studio 64-bit IDE. So, if you have switched to it or are planning to do so, you can use our components without having to worry about possible compatibility issues. The same goes for the latest versions of RAD Studio 12 Athens Release 3 and Lazarus 3.8—now you’ve got full support for both.

The PgDAC, UniDAC (PostgreSQL) components now include support for PostgreSQL 17 along with its improved features and optimizations.

Besides, in MyDAC, UniDAC (MySQL), we have added support for the latest MySQL 9.

Doesn’t it sound great? Let’s explore the release highlights of Delphi Data Access Components in details.

For UniDAC (ASE), we have implemented connection via the SSL protocol. This type of connection is secure, ensuring encrypted data transmission between the application and the database.

The functionality of PgDAC, UniDAC (PostgreSQL) has been expanded with the addition of the COPY … TO STDOUT statement. This further improvement enhances efficient data transmission from the database to the client application.

MyDac and UniDAC (MySQL) now include a new class EMySqlNetException for internal errors that might occur in the MySQL protocol. Thus, filtering exceptions is now easier than ever.

For SDAC, UniDAC (SQL Server), we’ve introduced a new Charset connection option in the Direct mode. The option allows you to select an encoding that differs from your system’s default.

ODAC and UniDAC (Oracle) now support auto-login wallets, which empower you with automatic access to the Oracle database. Keep in mind that the process assumes maintaining secure connections through encrypted authentication protocols.

In addition to auto-login wallets, you can make use of the new BOOLEAN data type. To take advantage of this feature, make sure that you have Oracle version 23c or higher installed on your workstation.

In ODAC and UniDAC (Oracle), we’ve also enhanced the detection of the MERGE statement type in the Direct mode.

The same components have been improved in terms of query execution speed. Say goodbye to time-consuming processes when retrieving primary keys for various tables. Now it happens almost instantly!

In MyDAC, PgDAC, and UniDAC (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ASE), when configuring an SSL connection, you can now use password-protected private keys, further enhancing security.

Finally, PgDAC received a well-enhanced performance of the TPgDump component, which generates database dump files.

General Features and Changes

  • The VirtualTable component now supports loading data in the JSON format, expanding its capabilities beyond the XML format and its native VTD format.
  • Design-time editors have been optimized for high-resolution monitors, covering a wider range of display types.
  • With the implemented SaveToJSON method, you have the ability to convert datasets and export them in JSON format, enabling integration with a wide range of applications.
  • Additionally, in component editors, syntax highlighting is now implemented using the TurboPack SynEdit package, replacing the outdated SynEdit. The new package is now available in Getlt.
  • To enhance the visual experience, we have introduced syntax highlighting in the Lazarus component editors. Please note the improvement is available exclusively on the Windows platform.
  • In SQL Generator, we’ve enabled the use of the read-only fields of your datasets. Please be aware that this feature is accessible only in the design-time interface of the component.
  • Another noteworthy feature is the addition of the IndentFormat argument to the SaveToXML method, which helps significantly reduce the output file size.
  • Finally, you can now input SQL statements with parameters during the execution of scripts using the Script component.
